Abhinav Choudhary

Abhinav Choudhary About Abhinav: Abhinav Choudhary joined Penn-State University in fall-08 and is a Graduate Research Assistant in the Engineering Design Program in the School of Engineering Design, Technology, and Professional Programs (SEDTAPP). Prior to joining SEDTAPP, he was in automobile industry as an Assistant manager/Emissions engineer in R&D - diesel engines. He is currently working with Dr. Cari Bryant Arnold for developing computational algorithms and supporting design methodologies to generate innovative ideas during conceptual phase of design. His research interests also include Robotics, Automobiles and IC engines.

Godthi Vamsy

Mad Scientist About Vamsy: Godthi Vamsy is currently pursuing his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering in the MNE department at Penn State University (joined in Fall 08). He has completed his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from PSG College of Technology, India with an integrated Industrial Training in Design and Manufacturing. He has been a Teaching Assistant during his undergraduate and also to a Finite Elements course (ME 461) in Fall 08 at PSU. He is currently associated with the IDEaS (Innovation and Design for Engineering And Systems) laboratory as a Graduate Research Assistant. He is working on refining and ways of using the data (output) from the Automated Concept Generation (by Dr. Arnold) using the Design Repository (Missouri S&T) data. He is also trying to develop new design tools that can make use of the Design Repository data to help with areas like design for modular product families, and creation of function flow diagrams for products. His research interests are Mechanical Design/Analysis, Automation, Product Design and development.

Cari R. Bryant Arnold, Ph.D.

Cari Bryant Arnold Dr. Arnold is an Assistant Professor in the Engineering Design Program in the School of Engineering Design, Technology, and Professional Programs (SEDTAPP) with a joint appointment in the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. She joined PSU as a faculty member in August 2007 and was awarded the James F. Will Career Development Professorship. Dr. Bryant Arnold’s research interests are design theories and methodologies, specifically research into innovation and automated conceptual design technologies, and concept development for interdisciplinary research areas such as bio-, micro-, and nano-technologies.
