1 Study Abroad

Description:

Study abroad is program for students who wish to take courses outside the United States. The study program may be a year long, a semester, summer only, or a part of a semester. The following institutions are a sample of where PSU students may take engineering related courses:

  1. University of Melbourne (Australia)
  2. University of Leeds (England)
  3. Denmark Technical University (Denmark)
  4. Universidad Polytechnicia de Valencia (Spain)

2 Work Abroad

The College of Engineering has opportunities for students to work abroad as part of their education. Students can choose either to do an international internship or pursue a co-op semester overseas. International internships exist in many countries in Europe and Asia, including Germany, France, Spain, Singapore, and China. International co-op semesters can be arranged with an array of employers who have overseas facilities. Work abroad is an exciting way to gain hands-on experience in your field of study while learning about the culture and practices of a new country. 3 International Engineering Certificate

At the time of graduation, Students in the College of Engineering can receive a Certificate in International Engineering if they have completed a sequence of courses in a foreign language, worked and/or studied abroad, and completed cultures (IL) courses that fulfill the international cultures requirement at Penn State .

4 Concurrent Majors in German/Engineering, French/Engineering, and Spanish/Engineering

Students in the College of Engineering can earn a BS in French, German, or Spanish and a BS in a College of Engineering major.
