Goals of the TI Program:

--Improve the quality of learning and teaching
--Enhance students' knowledge and skills related to course
--Enhance students' learning skills
--Enhance teaching and learning within the class
--Improve the interns' presentation and interpersonal skills through interaction with students

TI Program - Logistics:

--TIs should be matched to courses that they have completed
--TIs should have access to a good location for office hours and evening help sessions
--TIs receive a stipend of $1,500 per semester
--TIs typically work an average of 10 hours per week throughout the semester

Responsibilities of TI:

--Attend ENGR 497I Teaching Intern Seminar
--Meet with faculty mentor to establish duties and consult, as needed, throughout the semester
--Typical duties include: hold office hours and/or evening help sessions for the students; attend the class and provide feedback to the faculty mentor (if desired); teach several classes under the supervision of the faculty mentor; participate in testing and LIMITED grading in the course
