TEACHING INTERN PROGRAM GOALS:

- Improve quality of learning and teaching
- Enhance TI's course knowledge and skills
- Enhance TI's learning skills
- Enhance teaching and learning within the class
- Improve TI's presentation and interpersonal skills through interaction with students


PROGRAM LOGISTICS:

- TIs should be matched to courses they have completed
- TIs should have access to a good location for office hours and evening help sessions
- TIs receive a stipend of $2,000 per semester
- TIs typically work an average of 10 hours per week throughout the semester


TEACHING INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Attend ENGR 460 Teaching Intern Seminar during the fall semester
- Establish duties with faculty mentor, consulting as needed during the semester
- Typical duties include: hold office hours and/or evening help sessions for the students; attend the class and provide feedback to the faculty mentor (if desired); teach several classes under the supervision of the faculty mentor; participate in testing and LIMITED grading in the course
