Kyle Krall

Principal, Thornton Tomasetti

Mr. Kyle Krall is the office manager of Thornton Tomasetti’s Abu Dhabi and Dubai offices. He has more than 22 years of structural engineering experience in the design of commercial, sports, residential and mixed-use buildings, and has extensive experience in the design of both steel and concrete structures.

As a project manager, he is responsible for all phases of structural design, from schematic through project administration. His recent work includes The New York Times Building in New York City; RBS Americas Headquarters Building in Stamford, Connecticut; and the Abu Dhabi Financial Centre peer review and site observation. Other notable projects include San Francisco’s AT&T Park baseball stadium; the expansion of Penn State’s Beaver Stadium; and Nuova Sede della Regione Lombardia, the headquarters for the Lombardi Regional Government, Milan, Italy.

Kyle served as an adjunct assistant professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation for 10 years. He co-authored numerous technical papers and lectured at engineering conferences in the United States and the United Arab Emirates.

He has been an active member of the Structural Engineers Association of New York since 2001 where he served as president-elect from 2003-2004 and as president from 2004-2005. Kyle holds a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Columbia University.

Just before leaving Abu Dhabi to travel to Penn State, Kyle attended the Cityscape networking exhibition and conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Cityscape Abu Dhabi brings together international investors, developers, government and investment authorities, leading architects, designers, consultants, and all senior professionals involved in the design and construction of real estate.

He was nominated for the award by Dr. Chimay Anumba, Head of the Architectural Engineering Department.
