ASE Program Assistant (Deadline: February 4, 2013)
ASE is a summer bridge program that encourages engineering students from all Penn State campuses to get to know the College of Engineering located at University Park. Students take preparatory courses in Pre‐Calculus, Chemistry and English along with a study skills course to ensure academic success. Experienced engineering and science University faculty will be the program instructors. ASE will also have structured social and cultural activities. The overall objective of ASE is to maximize the retention of freshmen in engineering and science majors starting at Common Wealth Penn State campuses.
Program Assistant Responsibilities include:
• Serve as the primary mentor/supervisor to the participants
• Attend assigned ASE classes, tutoring sessions or other extra-curricular programs
•Accompany students on field trips
• Assist the MEP coordinators or any of the instructors as needed
• Must be available to work the entire ASE program duration
• Includes weekend and event hours
Rewards include:
• As a PA, you will live in the residence hall with the students, but you will have your own single room.
• All meals provided throughout the ASE program
