What is a MEPO Mentor?

Every student who participates in MEPO will be assigned a mentor. MEPO Mentors are upperclassman engineering students who represent Penn State and convey information to new engineering students and families. They assist with all orientation events and play a vital role in the adjustment of our incoming engineering students to Penn State. Mentors will contact their mentees before the orientation program even begins to immediately start helping incoming students with their transition. They also keep in constant contact with their mentees throughout the entire year to continue helping with the transition as well as act as a resource with everything and anything here at Penn State! This has proven to give students a huge step up in the pursuit of success in engineering!

What is a MEPO Program Assistant?

During the orientation, participants will also have the opportunity to interact with our MEPO Program Assistants (PA's). MEPO PA's serve as a "go-to person" all throughout the orientation. They are engineering students who have completed at least their first year in engineering and are in great standing. They play a vital role in facilitating the logistical success of the orientation. We encourage all participants to talk to them about their experiences as they have all successfully accomplished what YOU (the participant) will experience in your first year in engineering at Penn State!
