Graduate
Course (500-level) and Program Proposal Review and Approval Path
|
|
Proposals. A single copy should be sent to
Teresa Reed (101 Hammond) for style and content review to
save cycle time. The committee will not review proposals that don’t adhere to the policies and procedures.
The Faculty Senate is discouraging use of the electronic proposal system for general use.

|
Review
by COE Committee on Graduate Studies & Research
- Department submits proposal
(with the correct number of copies) to T. Reed for distribution to
committee.
- Outcomes: Committee recommends approval,
or the proposal is returned to the originating department
for revisions.
|
|
|
|
Review by
Engineering Faculty Council (EFC)
- Council reviews Committee
recommendations.
- Outcomes: Votes for approval, or recommends
that the proposal be returned to the originating
department for revisions.
|
|
|
|
College of Engineering Final
Approval Process
- Following EFC approval, the proposal
is forwarded to the College Representative (Graduate
Council Subcommittee on New and Revised Programs and Courses) for
review and signature.
- John M. Mason (Associate Dean of
Engineering) signs on behalf of the Dean of the College
of Engineering.
- The proposal, and the
appropriate number of copies, is forwarded to the Graduate School
for
further review and processing.

Graduate School Approval
Process
- Proposal is forwarded to
University Graduate Council Committee for review.
- Outcomes: Returned to the
originating College for clarification, modification, etc., or
approved.
- Approved course/program
appears on Senate Curriculum Report (Blue Sheets).
