We invite you to explore the many engineering programs and opportunities available at Penn State by attending the 2009 Engineering Open House on Saturday, February 28, 2009. Penn State offers four-year degrees in a variety of engineering majors at University Park, as well as two- and four-year degrees in engineering technology at other Penn State locations. In broader terms, Penn State offers the experiences and facilities to prepare engineering students for exciting and productive professional careers.
For the most comprehensive look at the programs available in the Colleges of Engineering, Information Sciences and Technology and Earth and Mineral Sciences, please join us. The day’s events are designed so that you can learn about these programs and visit with faculty and students in any department you wish, during scheduled tours between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. In addition, there are campus tours and a few special events which are scheduled as follows:
Old Main
Early Bird Sessions (pick up the days schedule at one of the following locations or Hintz Alumni Center)
- First-Year Experience
- Cooperative Education and Internship Presentation
- Women in Engineering Program (7:00 a.m.) Please stop by the Diversity table which is located in Kunkle Lounge or in their office 208 Hammond Building. Prospective female students and their families are welcome to meet with WEP Staff, and engage in Q&A session with a panel of engineering women.
- There will be an Engineering Student Services booth to answer any academic concerns or questions from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Multicultural Engineering Program / Women in Engineering Program
- Participate in the Society of Women Engineers stay over
- Meet with students and staff from the Multicultural Engineering Program

Parking: You should try to be in State College at least 40 minutes prior to your first presentation or tour to find parking in one of the recommended lots, which are the free lots on the west side of Atherton (designated on map as "P"). Enter at the light on White Course Drive (Red A). A shuttle bus will then bring you into core campus. There is also pay parking in the Fraser Street, Beaver Avenue, Pugh Street or McAllister Street parking garages. If you are attending an "Early Bird Session," please be at your select location 20 minutes prior to when your session begins. Every session will have a copy of the day's events.
If you will not be attending an "Early Bird Session," please pick up the agenda in the Hintz Alumni Center before beginning your tours.
There will also be refreshments available while you talk with staff and students, and find your starting location for your first activity at 9:30 a.m.
Registration: Registration for the 2009 College of Engineering Open House will begin in November 2008.
