Program Description:    The ICC code change hearings for the 2012 code cycle took place during the last week in October. Some of the most significant changes occurred in the energy provisions of the code. These changes were driven by the U.S. Department of Energy's goal of increasing energy efficiency by 30% over the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code. The new requirements will save consumers money, but have the potential to significantly increase the cost of construction.
