SPECIAL WEBINAR - Act 1 of 2011: New Uniform Construction Code Exemptions and Code Adoption

On April 25, 2011, Governor Tom Corbett signed House Bill 377 into law, making it Act 1 of 2011. This act amends the Uniform Construction Code (UCC) to eliminate sprinkler requirements for one- and two-family dwellings, and creates new requirements for fire protection of lightweight floor systems. In addition, the act creates new energy code requirements for log homes, and rolls back wall bracing requirements to the 2006 IRC provisions. This program looks at how and when the provisions of Act 1 apply, and the impact on residential design, construction, plan review and inspection. This webinar will also touch on the new code adoption process and responsibilities of the UCC Review and Advisory Council.

Presenters: Mike Turns and Jerry Leach
Intended Audience: Builders, remodelers, code officials and design professionals
