Basement Wall Insulation Strategies

Basement construction has proved to be one of the more problematic components of residential construction projects, especially when intended to be used as finished space. On top of the multitude of factors that contribute to the performance of a basement, both thermally and structurally, the strategies for insulating the below-grade space vary significantly. This webinar will discuss the fundamental building science concepts behind basement wall performance, and current code requirements that have implications on basement design. Several common basement insulation strategies will be compared including a discussion of pros and cons of each system.

Presenter: Brian Wolfgang

Intended Audience:  Residential builders and remodelers, design professionals, code officials
