Understanding Barriers - vapor, air, water resistive, etc.
There is a wide of materials that can be used to keep building components dry and improve a home’s energy efficiency. Some materials function as vapor retarders, others function as water-resistive barriers, others as air barrier materials, and still others serve multiple functions. This variety of materials and functionality has resulted in a considerable amount of confusion around which types of materials are acceptable for which purpose. Attend this webinar to learn the differences between vapor retarders, water-resistive barriers, and air barriers, as well as which common building materials service which purpose.
