Welcome to the Penn State Society of Women Engineers homepage!

The Penn State Section of SWE was founded in 1975 and has grow to over 200 members! Our organization's mission is to “Stimulate women to achieve as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity.”

SWE has 5 different areas of concentrations: Service, Social, Publicity, Recruitment, and University Relations. SWE is known around the campus for sponsoring 2 Networking Reception, Engineering Career Fair, College of Engineering Semi-Formal, Mr. Engineer Competition, American Red Cross Blood Drives, and High School Stayover. Additionally, SWE is active in service events, IM sports, Homecoming, and THON throughout the year.

We are always looking for new members and encourage anyone to participate! This year we are opening the SWE National Conference to ALL members (If you are interested in attending, please email Natalie nlb5002@psu.edu) and will be reducing the cost of the event significantly for anyone who would like to attend.

Feel free to look around our updated website and contact any of the officers and directors about questions you may have. You can find our contact information here.

Have a great year!
