Mr. and Mrs. Weiss

William L. Weiss, a Penn State trustee, graduated in industrial engineering in 1951 and Josephine Berry Weiss graduated in arts and letters in 1950. The two of them, wedded forty-plus years, believe that their engineering and liberal arts backgrounds have enriched their lives and their marriage. That broad foundation helped them to rear their three children with a wide perspective on the world.

Loyalty to their respective colleges has provided scholarships, professorships, and endowed chairs to both engineering and liberal arts. Further, their generosity fostered this innovative program that provides students from each college with the means to undertake interdisciplinary work. Named in their honor, the William L. and Josephine Berry Weiss Graduate Scholars Program began in the fall of 1997.
