Undergraduate Women Engineering Students

WEP offers many academic, social and leadership activities throughout the year:

  • Yearlong WEP Activities - provide monthly (free!) dinner meetings where you can meet your friends and get academic success and career development information.

  • Commonwealth Campus Connection - provides mentoring, a listserv and web information for students at Penn State Commonwealth Campus locations.

  • Facilitated Study Groups are groups led by upper-level women engineers to bring together women studying the engineering core courses so they can succeed in these courses!

  • WEP Classes include Toy Making (with Mechanical Engineering), Lab and Shop Skills, Computer Networking Essentials, Wellness for Engineering Women and Career Development for Engineering Women.  Watch for sign up announcements on the WEPPSU listsserv.

  • Undergraduate Research - provides valuable research experience, networking and a taste of graduate school.

  • WEPPSU Listserv - stay current by signing up for the listserv that posts jobs, scholarship opportunities, WEP events, tips and other important items.

  • WEP Student Organizations include SWE (the student chapter of the Society of Women Engineers) and Phi Sigma Rho (a professional sorority for women in engineering and technology).  Visit their websites to learn more about their exciting activities.

  • Leadership Opportunities abound.  Students are WEPO mentors, peer instructors, camp counselors, workshop leaders and more.  Sign up through the WEP volunteer web form and watch for email announcements for applications for WEPO mentor/rover positions and MTM camp counselors.
