Your MTM experiences will allow you to explore the wide variety of engineering career possibilites available and experience what your life might be like on a college campus.

MTM (Make the Machine) Engineering Camp for Girls is a day camp for girls entering grades 9-12. It offers five different interdisciplinary engineering modules and hands-on opportunities. Your MTM experiences will allow you to explore the wide variety of engineering career possibilities available and experience what your life might be like on a college campus.
High school girls entering grades 9-12 in fall are eligible. Applicants should be enrolled in high school math classes, and have an interest in math and science and a desire to learn more about engineering as a career choice.
Engineering is an exciting, diverse field highlighted by one overarching goal: Engineers solve problems to make the world a better place. As an MTM participant, you can actively explore this creative, rewarding profession. Engineering makes life better!

When & where is MTM?
Each MTM Camp daily module runs from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Penn State University Park. Students may choose which modules to attend, or may participate all week. The daily program cost includes a continental breakfast, lunch, a T-shirt, transportation to site visits, and daily modules.
If you plan to travel from out of town, the Women in Engineering Program (WEP) can suggest convenient and affordable lodging within walking distance of our facilities.
The cost of the attending MTM Camp is $35 per day or $150 for the entire week (five days).
MTM modules emphasize hands-on engineering activities, active problem solving, career site visits, exposure to female role models, and teamwork. You'll get to know the University Park campus, engineering students and faculty, and you'll make new friends.
Camp scholarships will be awarded to those who demonstrated financial need. Applicants requesting financial assistance should submit proof that they qualify for their school district's free lunch program, signed by a guidance counselor.
Financial assistance applicants will be contacted to obtain related financial information, and are required to write an essay on the following topic:
