First Year Experience

Your first year is crucial -- you make new friends, become established in your major and learn a lot.  WEP and the college of engineering offer many opportunities for you to develop and access that will help you as a first year student.

WEPO-The Women in Engineering Program Orientation is a great way to begin.  You meet many other first year students from all of the Penn State campuses, get to know upper-level women engineering mentors, and get acquainted with engineering design, computers, the campus, professional role models and more!

FSG Program - Facilitated Study Groups provide you academic support and access to upper-level women facilitators who have been successful in the core engineering courses you will be taking.

Volunteer Activities  -  Girl Scout Saturdays, student groups like the Society of Women Engineers and Phi Sigma Rho, and other outreach activities offer you leadership, community and skill building opportunities.

Special Housing Options - The College offers several on-campus engineering housing options.
