Assistant Research Professor, Biomedical Engineering

The College of Engineering and the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University (PSU) are seeking a qualified and motivated individual to fill an Assistant Research Professor position to conduct breast cancer diagnostics studies funded by a DoD grant. This position will play a key role in developing long read sequencing strategies from exosome samples.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, or a related discipline. Candidates with expertise in long read sequencing are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant needs to have excellent interpersonal communication skills and must be able to work with multiple labs.

The position will be in the Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department and affiliated with the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences ( The Penn State BME Department and Huck Institutes provide a rich environment in which faculty, postdocs and graduate/undergraduate students regularly interact and conduct collaborative studies. Affiliated faculty, staff and students have access to the Institutes’ state-of-the-art core facilities.

This is a limited term position funded for one year from the date of hire with an excellent possibility of refunding.
