Graduate Funding Opportunities

Graduate admission, and admission with financial aid, is granted on a competitive basis to those presenting the strongest credentials.

Upon admission, students are considered for any fellowships and awards for which they are eligible. Students do not apply directly for these types of funding sources.

U.S. citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form. For more information, contact the Penn State Office of Student Aid.

International students are not eligible for most student aid programs. You may want to seek assistance through organizations that specialize in financially assisting international students who desire to study in the United States. For information on how to fund your Penn State education, please visit the University Office of Global Programs website.

The Graduate School at Penn State offers resources for various types of funding, including external funding sources, on the Graduate School website.

The University Fellowships Office at Penn State supports all qualified students applying for competitive national and international fellowships. Go to ufo.psu.edu for more information. The office also offers training and workshops for those interested in applying for various funding opportunities. Go to ufo.psu.edu/calendar/list for current offerings.

For information about current graduate student and post doctoral positions at Penn State, go to psu.jobs/jobs and select “Graduate/Student/Postdoc Jobs” in the Job Type dropdown menu.
