Purpose:
The American Public Power Association (APPA) awards research grants/internships as part of its Demonstration of Energy-Efficient Developments (DEED) Program. This research, development and demonstration program is to sponsor and conduct activities related to energy innovation, improving efficiencies and lowering the cost of providing energy services to the customers of community-owned electric utilities
Eligibility:
Engineering students studying in energy-related disciplines from accredited colleges or universities are eligible for technical design project funding. This grant is geared toward engineering students working on their SENIOR project.
Terms of Award:
One (1) $5,000 technical design project research grant will be awarded each calendar year. Travel expenses (up to $3,000) are included to present the project at APPA's Engineering and Operations Technical Conference (E&O) held each spring.
Please Submit:
Student(s) are expected to complete a project approved by their academic advisor and submit a final report and a 2-page summary abstract of the project. A copy of the application must be sent to the DEED regional board director.
