The Residence Inn by Marriott was designed with all the comforts of home to accommodate guests who will be staying for extended periods of time. The main entrances leading to the lobby are from the North at Brambleton Avenue and from the South at York Street.
The first floor supports a variety of functions, including guest amenities and the necessary staff work areas. Guests may relax or socialize in the hearth room, complete with a two-sided fireplace, or in the nearby study area. There is also a private meeting room that may be reserved as needed. Near the lobby, there is a dining area for guests to enjoy a full breakfast buffet, served from an adjacent space, and prepared in the kitchen. One of the highlights of this floor is the indoor pool and spa, as well as the adjacent exercise room. Guests may also utilize the in-house guest laundry facilities during their extended stays. Functional areas on the main level include managerial offices, staff work and lounge areas, a mechanical mezzanine, and public restrooms. The elevator core is located centrally, with emergency stairwells at either end of the building.
Each of the 160 suites features separate living and sleeping areas, as well as a fully-equipped kitchenette. Suites also offer a full bath and closet storage; 2-bedroom suites have separate private full baths adjacent to each bedroom. All guest suites are located on floors two through nine. Many of the suites will offer magnificent views of the surrounding downtown Norfolk area.
