The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute at a Glance

Sterling and his spouse, Francine, have shared the passion of collecting art work. They founded the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute which is an art museum and a center for research and higher education, dedicated to advancing and extending the public understanding of art. The major reason ws to protect their valuable art work such as paintings, silver, sculpture, porcelain, drawings, and prints they collected through years. With time, the institute needed another extension for doing research work. Then a building was built on the 1970's. Nowadays, with current advancements in sciences and arts, a new building is essential. The new addition will mainly have an Exhibition, Conference, and Visitor Center.
