The Indoor Environment Center is comprised of faculty, staff, and students from a variety of engineering, science, and medical disciplines. The IEC provides a framework within which faculty and staff from these diverse fields can form the multidisciplinary teams needed to solve the challenging problems of indoor environmental quality. Students assisting in IEC projects learn to work in collaborative teams and are exposed to the broader context and implications of their research. The IEC is supported and guided by an Advisory Board whose members are leaders in the construction industry and academia. They provide feedback and perspective that is essential to maintaining the relevance to practice of the IEC’s research efforts.
