Asphalt Field Update/Refresher Course
This course is a Learning Activity ONLY.
REMEMBER to Submit Your Certification Renewal Application: Submit the separate certification renewal card
application (with the other requirements listed in Pub. 351) at least 30 days
before your current certification card expires.
This online 1-day update/refresher course uses ZoomTM
and provides the latest changes in pertinent specifications, test methods,
practices and policies to PennDOT certified asphalt field technicians. Field
operation problems identified by PENNDOT Construction QA during the previous
year’s asphalt paving season will also be addressed and proposed remedies will
be offered. The duration of each agenda topic may vary. This course will be
updated and revised annually.
Required: A standard desktop or laptop with a webcam and
consistent 3.0 Mbps internet connection must be used for this course. NO mobile
devices such as Chromebooks, iPads, tablets, cellphones, droids, etc. since
they CANNOT properly submit the polling questions.
To receive credit for the course, your Zoom attendance must
be at least 90% of the time and at least 85% of the polling questions during
the course must be answered. A certificate of attendance will be mailed to each
successful participant for this learning activity.
