Final Report

This final report contains the discussion of results of analyses or alternative systems to the Charles E. Smith Center.

Combined Heat and Power (CHP): Was examined to  replace the existing boilers currently in place and reduce the electrical dependency.

Energy Recovery Wheel: Was examined  replace the current AHU’s on the second and third floors due to the high outside air content in theses spaces. 

As a result of the CHP analysis, an examination into the Electrical Distribution of the Smith Center was explored.  For all alternative systems, an analysis of the Construction Schedule impact was also explored.
