Kyle Pepperman
Kyle excelled in art, design, and woodworking throughout high school,
winning many awards for his pieces at local art shows. Art wasn’t his only forte however, with a
strong base in math and science, Kyle was ranked in the top ten of his graduating
class. He found the Architectural
Engineering major with a focus in mechanical systems at
During the summer of 2003, Kyle participated in a split internship
between LLI Technologies, Inc. and McKamish, Inc. in which he was able to gain
experience with both the design side and estimating/contracting side of
mechanical systems. While at LLI
Technologies, Inc. he was the lead mechanical designer for a historic
renovation of a small local railroad station.
Kyle is currently employed by two departments at The Pennsylvania State
University, one of which he is able to use his engineering skills as a
mechanical intern at the Office of Physical Plant, and the other he is able to
use his wood working skills at the Center for Engineering Design and
Entrepreneurship wood shop. Tasks at the
Office of Physical Plant include the redesign and updating of existing
mechanical systems in order to improve indoor air quality and energy
conservation. Duties in the CEDE wood
shop include student training sessions, maintenance and upkeep of the machines,
and various cabinetry/woodworking projects.
Kyle has also been an active member with Habitat for Humanity since he
was in high school. He most recently
