What is CPEP?

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolios (CPEPs) make up a web-based hub of information through which the thesis work of every fifth year Architectural Engineering student can be viewed. The CPEPs are created and maintained by the students and include information about thesis building statistics, technical assignments, the final report/presentation, and more. The CPEP websites also serve as portals of interaction between the students and faculty and industry consultants. The sites are hosted by the Penn State Department of Architectural Engineering.

This website is dedicated to the research and analysis conducted via guidelines provided by the Department of Architectural Engineering.

Thank You

I would like to thank my project sponsors, Mr. Ted Lynch and Mr. Scott C. Winkler of Southland Industries, for providing resources and the opportunity to use this building for my senior thesis project. Thanks also to David C. J. Peters, Chris Taylor, Sarah Skeen, Hitt Contracting, and Quadrangle Development Corporation for their collaboration and cooperation.

Note:
While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of this CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work-in-progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Jessica R. Baker. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
