JULIE DAVIS | Structural Option

Julie Davis is currently in her 5th year at Penn State University majoring in architectural engineering, structural option. Julie plans to graduate in May 2008 and pursue full time employment. She desires a career which allows her to practice both design and management tasks.

Julie has a variety of profession experience between her two internships. She interned for Truland Systems Corporation an electrical subcontractor in Reston Virginia during the summer of 2006. While working for Truland Julie was placed on the Air Force Memorial and City Vista both in downtown Washington DC. This internship taught her the ins and outs of the construction industry, teamwork, and communication skills. For the summer of 2007 Julie interned for Greenman Pederson Inc.(GPI) an engineering firm in Scranton PA. Working for their structural department she heavily used cad extensively to create and draft structural section, plans, and elevation. Julie also did design exercises for GPI including a floor study, truss analysis, retaining wall design, and snow and wind code analysis.

Julie is also very heavily involved in music. She is in Grace Notes, a Penn State acapella singing group, where she also serves as the treasurer. She sings the national anthem at various sporting events around campus. Julie also plays the piano and in her church praise band and at various other events.

When Julie is not singing or pursing a degree in engineering she enjoys running and playing tennis. She was the #1 singles on the Penn State Hazleton tennis team and during the summer plays singles for a USTA team tennis league
