sTUDENT bIOGRAPHY OF kRISTIN mARUSZEWSKI

440.JPGKRISTIN MARUSZEWSKI IS CURRENTLY A 5TH YEAR ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING STUDENT AT THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY.  SHE WILL GRADUATE IN MAY 2008 WITH AN INTEGRATED BACHELOR AND MASTER OF ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING DEGREE.  IN THE SUMMER OF 2006, SHE STUDIED ARCHITECTURE IN ROME WITH PENN STATE’S PROGRAM SEDI DI ROMA.  THIS ALLOWED KRISTIN TO ALSO ATTAIN AN ARCHITECTURE MINOR.

KRISTIN ENJOYS TRAVELING TO OTHER COUNTRIES TO LEARN ABOUT THEIR ARCHITECTURE, HISTORY, AND CULTURE.  SHE ALSO ENJOYS BEING WITH HER FAMILY, BABYSITTING, PLAYING WITH KIDS, DOING ARTS AND CRAFTS, RUNNING, BIKING, HIKING AND ENGAGING IN OTHER OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES.  KRISTIN ALSO LOVES GOD, AND HAS BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY THIS YEAR TO SHARE THAT LOVE WITH FRESHMEN GIRLS AS SHE LEADS A BIBLE STUDY FOR CAMPUS CRUSADE FOR CHRIST.

IN PAST SUMMERS, KRISTIN HELD INTERNSHIP POSITIONS WITH HOFFMAN ARCHITECTURE, OFFICE OF PHYSICAL PLANT, MILFORD CONSTRUCTION, AND META ENGINEERING.  THIS GAVE HER THE ABILITY TO WORK ON A PROJECT WITH EACH DIFFERENT CONCENTRATION.

BASED UPON HER INTERACTIONS WITH PROFESSIONALS AND HER LOVE FOR MATH AND ART, KRISTIN DECIDED TO NARROW HER FOCUS OF STUDY TO LIGHTING AND ELECTRICAL DESIGN IN BUILDINGS.  KRISTIN PASSED THE FUNDAMENTALS OF ENGINEERING EXAM IN THE SPRING OF 2007 AND PLANS TO PURSUE A LEED CERTIFICATION.
