Steven Stein Biography

Steven Stein is currently a 5th year Architectural Engineering student who is concentrating in Structural Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. As he is in the integrated Bachelor and Master of Architectural Engineering Program, he will receive both degrees upon graduation in May 2008.  Steven also studied abroad in Rome during the summer of 2006. There he studied the architecture and urban development of the ancient city. He has followed his interest and love of arts and architecture and will also receive a minor in Architectural Studies upon graduation.

Steven grew up in southern New Jersey and attended Vineland High School. It was during this time that he discovered his interest for the building industry. While working for a custom home builder, he gained valuable knowledge and understanding in the residential building industry and decided to pursue a career in the engineering and construction business.

During the course of studies at Penn State, Steven has furthered his education in several ways, including interning at DeSimone Consulting Engineers in New York City. From designing foundations and checking columns sizes to field inspecting mat foundations, it was here where he gained valuable experience in the commercial industry.

Steven is an active member of Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity in which he served as Vice-President. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.  In the Spring of 2007, Steven was elected by the faculty of the AE department to become a member of the Phi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society. In his free time, Steven enjoys skiing, playing golf, watching Philadelphia sports, and participating in intramural sports. Upon graduation, he plans on continuing to work in the structural engineering field and once qualified, he plans on pursuing a PE or an SE to further develop his studies.
