Alyssa's Biography


Alyssa Adams is a fifth year senior in the mechanical option of Penn State University’s Architectural Engineering Program.  While at the university, Alyssa has participated in a variety of professional and student organization; she has served as treasurer and president for S:PACE (Student Chapter of the Partnership of Achieving Construction Excellence) as well as Lead Mentor of the Women in Engineering Program Orientation. 

Currently, Alyssa holds the position of vice-president for the Penn State ASHRAE Chapter.  She was a member of the ASHRAE Student Design Competition team that placed first and second in system selection and system design categories. Alyssa also helped charter the MCAA (Mechanical Contractors Association of America) Chapter at Penn State.

Over the past four summers, Alyssa interned at a variety of mechanical consulting and design/build companies.  Her first internship was with Centerpoint Engineering as a MEP consulting design engineer.  Her second internship took her to the DC area with Southland Industries, where Alyssa had the opportunity to serve as project engineer on the Pentagon Wedge 4 renovation.

The past two summers, Alyssa has interned at the McClure Company as a design/build engineer on a variety of energy service projects. Upon graduation in May, Alyssa will be rejoining McClure as a mechanical design engineer to further her experience and knowledge of the industry, pursue her professional engineering license, and begin classes for a Masters in Business Administration.
