 Ryan Levi Solnosky

Ryan Solnosky is currently in his 5th year of study in the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University. In December 2009, he will graduate with an Integrated Bachelor/Master of Architectural Engineering degree, with a focus in Structural Engineering. He will also have earned an Engineering Mechanics Minor. Mr. Solnosky is currently a member of a number of professional and student organizations including the Penn State Chapter of the Architectural Engineering Institute, student member of AISC, and the Current Secretary of the Structural Engineers Association (SEA Penn State).

During the past summer, Ryan participated in a structural engineering internship with Hope Furrer Associates, a recognized AE firm. Also starting in spring 2008 through to the present, Ryan is a grader/teaching assistant for the Architectural Engineering Department for various structural design courses. These experiences provided him with valuable experience and insight into the design, coordination, and also the construction of a variety of buildings and structures.

In the short term, he is looking forward to beginning working as a structural engineer for a consulting or AE firm to gain knowledge and practical experience in the structural engineering profession. He hopes to pass the FE Exam this year so he can work towards obtaining a professional licensure. At this time Ryan is also considering his options towards graduate school in the future to better understand and help develop the field of structural engineering.
