Reflection
AE 481W/482 Course Relection
When it is all said and done, Senior Thesis was a good experience. It gave me the opportunity to learn about a specific building, identify areas of potential improvement, develop my own hypothesis and implement. The first semester had several due dates which forced me to stay on track and on schedule. On the other hand, the second semester had one due date, this was the final due date for the report and one that was the day of my final presentation. This was both beneficial and detrimental. It was good in that it allowed me to develop my own schedule and milestones and work toward them throughout the semester. This same facet was also the primary cause of stress and headaches. Because I had to keep myself on track and on schedule, this meant I had to be self-motivated and self-reliant. This is one aspect where thesis was different from most other AE courses where projects are done in small groups and the members are all interdependent. This, I feel, made the thesis project more of a real life learning experience and will prove very beneficial when I am tasked with similar challenges in the future.
CPEP Reflection
This was not my first time updating and maintaining an e-Portfolio but this time, as with any, proved to have its own set of issues and challenges. The primary source of difficulty was faced when trying to display the relative information in a technical yet artistic manner. Additionally, the site may appear one way in Dreamweaver and appear completely different in Internet Explorer or Firefox etcetera. Overall, the e-Portfolio was beneficial in it allowed me to post my work throughout the semester and receive feedback from many of the parties involved with the project.
