Michael W. Lucas:

Mike Lucas is currently in his fifth year of study in the Architectural Engineering Program at the Pennsylvania State University. In May 2011, he will graduate with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree with a focus in lighting and electrical systems. During the summer of 2010, Mike worked as an intern for Mueller Associates out of Baltimore, MD. His work included an electrical redesign of an existing structure in Washington, D.C., modeling and sizing mechanical piping, ductwork and plumbing for a 14-story university law school building, and setting up submission documents via Revit and AutoCAD MEP.

This internship provided him with valuable experience and insight into the design and documentation of not only lighting and electrical systems, but instilled a solid understanding of mechanical systems as well.

During the summer of 2009, Mike worked for Bob Biter Electric as an intern on the Millennium Science Complex. Original duties consisted of processing submittals, RFI's, and general contractor office work. Soon after, Mike was working on CAD drawings for the job's B.I.M. Coordination. Using Navisworks and AutoCAD MEP, he has coordinated the majority of the electrical components of the building withother trades. Returning to BBE this fall, he plans to finish the remainder of coordination and continue work with BBE throughout the remainder of his education.
