State’s Office of Engineering Diversity where she still works while taking

a full class load.  Steph secured an internship for the summer of 2009

with RTKL Associates in Baltimore, assisting with the mechanical

systems designs.  This past summer, Steph returned to JMT where she

assisted with mechanical systems designs, completing load calculations

and energy saving strategies.

In 2010, Steph oversaw 50 student leaders and 180 incoming female freshmen engineering students as the Overall Lead Mentor for Penn State’s Women in Engineering Program Orientation (WEPO).  Steph is also the Vice President for ASHRAE and was the 2009-2010 Secretary of Penn State’s chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).  During her junior year, Steph was nominated by faculty to be an Architectural Engineering Student Envoy.

Steph served on committees to support Penn State’s Dance MaraTHON, the largest student-run philanthropy in the world.  Steph acted as THON Chair for Student Society of Architectural Engineers (SSAE), which is the Penn State Chapter of the Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI).  In February 2010, Steph was a dancer in the 46 hour, no sitting or sleeping, Dance MaraTHON which raised a record $ 7,838,054.36!
