Alex Schreffler is currently in his fifth year at Penn State, pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in Construction Management. This year, he will be busy studying the processes and methods involved with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and how they can be better utilized in the construction process for his thesis. Beyond his prescribed coursework, Alex has expanded his opportunities and skills with management in leadership through his training with the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), which takes up the majority of his extra-curricular time. Over the past two years, he has held positions as a Flight Commander in charge of 20 cadets, a Squadron Commander in charge of 40 cadets, and has developed a training program that is soon to be instituted nationwide.

Last summer Alex interned with Alexander Building Construction in State College, PA and worked on three separate projects at Mount Nittany Medical Center, including an enormous addition to the existing Cancer Treatment Center and a new wing for the Emergency Department. He was assigned to assist the project engineer, and in doing so, was busy coordinating work with subcontractors, analyzing plans, and engineering solutions to problems on site.

Alex is a huge sports fan and loves watching and playing baseball, football and hockey. He especially enjoys tailgating with his friends before going to see Penn State football games.
