Kristiana McMunn

Kristiana McMunn is currently finishing her 5th year of study in the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University.  In May 2013, she will graduate with an Integrated Bachelor/Master of Architectural Engineering degree, with a focus in building mechanical systems.  She passed her Fundamentals of Engineering exam in Spring of 2012 and will receive Engineering-in-Training (E.I.T.) status upon graduation.  Her aspirations include furthering her knowledge of mechanical systems and pursuing her license as a Professional Engineer.

During the past two summers, Kristiana has participated in two valuable internships and one study abroad program.  In the first half of Summer 2011, Kristiana traveled abroad to Rome, Italy to participate in the Sede di Roma program where she received a minor in Architectural Studies.  When she returned, she began an internship with R.G. Vanderweil Engineers, Inc. in their Alexandria office.  She was heavily involved in the design of a tenant fit-out in Washington D.C.  This past summer, Kristiana completed an internship with Bard, Rao + Athanas Consulting Engineers in Watertown, MA.    There she gained valuable experience designing and coordinating complex HCAC systems for laboratories.  During both internships, Kristiana was able to gain experience using software such as AutoCad, Revit MEP, and Trane Trace.  She looks forward to working for a firm where she can expand her knowledge and practical experience dealing with mechanical systems.

Throughout the school year, Kristiana chooses to stay involved in a variety of other activities.  She has been involved with Spanish Club as both President and Secretary.  She is also heavily involved in THON and served on She enjoys snowboarding, surfing, and playing soccer.For more details on work experience, leadership and extra-curricular experience, and awards and honors, please see Kristiana’s résumé
