Technical report two is a Pro-Con study of three alternate floor systems as well as the existing floor system of 1776 Wilson Boulevard. The existing system is a two way post tensioned flat slab with drop panels. The three alternate systems analyzed were:
-Hollow Core Precast Planks on Steel
-Composite Steel
-Non-Composite Steel
The four systems were compared using various criteria including weight, depth, cost, and constructability. Other issues such as vibration issues and impacts on the foundation design were also kept in mind. To view the full report, click here.
Technical report one serves as an existing conditions report for the structural system of 1776 Wilson Boulevard. Initial wind and seismic loads were also calculated for this report. To view the full report, click here.
Technical report three involves an in depth analysis of the existing lateral force resisting system of 1776 Wilson Boulevard. Through hand calculations and a computer model created with the use of Bentley RAM, checks were made on the reinforced concrete moment frame system and shear walls to make sure they was sufficient to resist the lateral loads calculated in technical report one. Shear strength, building drift, torsion, and overturning moments were all checked and industry standards and codes were used to perform this analysis. To view the full report, click here.
