Reflection

ABET Outcome Survey

Even though the past year was challenging and stressful, it allowed me to finally implement everything I learned in the past five years. AE 481 focused on the exisiting conditions and technical sides of the building. The course allowed students to stay on track with distinct deadlines while reviewing their projects thoroughly. As a Construction Management student, I not only reviewed the processes, cost and schedule, but design aspects as well. This course provided the students the ability to understand their buildings before diving into their redesign and research.

AE 482 moved away from the strict deadlines and allowed the students to set their own thesis structure and schedule for the semester. With this each student was able to choose their areas of studies based on their interests. This allowed students to be fully responsible for their work, with very little help from the faculty.

The CPEP and Discussion Boards shows the industry's interest in the research and findings of Penn State students and the Architectural Engineering Department. It is important that students have these contact during their thesis for help, but can also provide as industry contacts as we start our careers.
