REFLECTION

Senior Thesis Reflection

AE 481/ 482W has provided students with the opportunity to take a building that was already designed and investigate the original design. We then were able to choose an aspect of the building to redesign. When working on this we were able to link real world situations with everything we have learned thoughout our time here as a student at Penn State. We were also able to realize that any change in the building had an impact on all aspects of the building from the architecture, to the cost, to each individual system. I think that this course is excellent experience for the jump from school into a job.

CPEP Reflection

CPEP was an extremely useful tool for completing this thesis. It enabled students to keep everything well organized and easily accessible. The CPEP page also made information readily available for outside professionals and our professors to monitor. This website will also serve as a memory of all the time and effort we each put into this year long thesis.

User Note:

While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work-in-progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Nasser Marafi. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
