David Maser is in his 5th year of the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University focusing on the Construction Management option.  He will graduate in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering Degree.  David also plans on taking the Fundamentals of Engineering exam in the spring of 2011, and plans on earning his EIT status upon graduation.  David also has taken and passed the LEED Green Associate Exam this past summer, and hopes to become a LEED AP soon after he begins his career.

During his time in the Architectural Engineering Program, David has focused his efforts on learning ways to use Building Information Modeling (BIM) and the rewards of working in an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) approach.  All through his education, David has been able to use 3D modeling to convey his ideas.  In his fourth year of education, David enrolled in BIM/IPD Studio, which was the first life like project experience with BIM and IPD.  For his Senior Thesis, David is also enrolled in the BIM/IPD Senior Thesis that will be focusing on the 256,000 SF Millennium Science Complex at University Park, PA.  In spring 2011, David plans on continuing his BIM efforts by enrolling in a Virtual Facilities Prototyping class.

This past summer David interned as a Project Engineer Intern for Walsh Construction, a general contracting firm based in Chicago, Illinois, at the Outsized Cargo Facility on the Dover AFB in Delaware.  The summers before, David has spent working with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as a Field Engineer Intern.

Outside of academics, David is involved with S:PACE (Student Partnership for Achieving Construction Excellence) and DBIA (Design-Build Institute of America).
