Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in‐progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Antonio Verne. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.

AE 481W and AE 482 Reflection

The 5th year senior thesis is a terrific program of the Penn State AE department. It allows students to apply all the information learned in class over the past five years, as well as, professional ethics, communication, and project organization to their own building. The amount of exposure to real-life problems and deadlines prepares students for what is ahead in professional practice. As such, AE students are much more prepared for the daily challenges of engineering. Personally, I have a better understanding of building analysis and more confidence to defend my design. After bringing the past five years to a close with this project, I am prepared to enter engineering profession.

CPEP Discussion Board Reflection

The CPEP Discussion Board is an invaluable resource for students. The ability to have access to practicing professionals anytime is very incredible. The response by the profession was second to none, especially given their hectic schedules. The knowledge gained by reading their responses to students' questions, questions some many never have thought of, is extremely helpful in aiding students progression as engineers. Thank you for your amazing contributions to the AE program.
