Jason Greer's Bio

Jason Greer:

Jason Greer is currently finishing his fifth year of the Architectural Engineering Program at The Pennsylvania State University.  He will graduate in May of 2008 with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering.  In the spring of 2007, Jason passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and will be eligible for E.I.T status upon graduation.

In Jason’s final years of high school, he debated of the type of engineering that was right for him.  With an interest in physics, math and architectural drafting, Jason stumbled upon Penn State’s Architectural Engineering program which seemed like a perfect fit, and it was.  The choice of the Lighting/Electrical option came easily after Jason worked for a lighting manufacture and was intrigued by what he had learned of the lighting industry.

Jason has worked with Hadco, a Genlyte Company that specializes in outdoor site and landscape lighting.  Jason was with Hadco for 3 summers dating from his freshman to junior years.  Jason’s most recent internship was with SmithGroup, a highly respected MEP firm located in Washington, DC.  This is where Jason learned of the complexities and challenges that go into any good electrical system and the effect one can have on a space through excellent lighting designs.

In his free time, Jason enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing.  Jason has played baseball his entire life and currently plays for his home town men’s league during the summer.  Jason is a huge Penn State football fan, but given the time, he can learn to love any competitive sport.

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) is a web‐based project and information center. It contains material produced for a year‐long Senior Thesis class. Its purpose, in addition to providing central storage of individual assignments, is to foster communication and collaboration between student, faculty consultant, course instructors, and industry consultants. This website is dedicated to the research and analysis conducted via guidelines provided by the Department of Architectural Engineering.
