Justin Purcell is currently in his 5th year at The Pennsylvania State University enrolled in the Architectural Engineering (AE) program.  In the AE program, he has an emphasis in structures and a minor in Architectural Studies.  Upon graduation in May 2008, he will receive Engineer In Training (E.I.T.) status.
Justin has a considerable amount of experience in the office while also having actual hands-on training on the job site.  In the summer of 2007, Justin had a structural internship at KlingStubbins, where he designed structural elements for mid-rise buildings of pharmaceutical companies.  In the summers of 2006/2005, he worked for Purcell Engineering designing high-end residential structures.  Justin worked for R.P. Norley General Construction in 2005/2004.  There, he worked on the framing crew, framing the wood construction for custom built homes.  Last but not least in the summers of 2001-2003, Justin was an apprentice to a stone mason at Performance Stone Masonry.  There he learned the art of laying stone as the stone masons did thousand’s of years ago.
Justin spent 8 weeks studying abroad in Rome, Italy in the summer of 2006.  There he studied ancient Roman structures including the Pantheon. He also traveled all over Europe to Venice, Capri, Naples, Milan, Florence, Amsterdam, Pompeii, Tuscany, Sperlonga, etc.
In his spare time, he performs volunteer work to International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.), Local Union #98.  Some of the projects he donated his time on are the electrical renovation of existing row homes for the financially challenged in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the addition of exterior lighting to the Bucks County Courthouse in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
