Student Biography

Johnathan M. Garlow

Johnathan is a fifth year student at The Pennsylvania State University, studying Architectural Engineering, focusing on Construction Management. Penn State Architectural Engineering program is a 5-year ABET accredited professional program. Johnathan is from Uniontown, PA, where he was born and raised. Knowing about the Architectural Engineering program at Penn State through a friend/professor, Johnathan knew it was what he wanted to do.

Johnathan has received considerable experience through his 3 internships (in 2005, 2006, and 2007). In the summer of 2005 Johnathan worked for a small General Contractor (Maracon Inc.) out of Uniontown, PA. Here he learned much of the office side of things while bidding 3 different jobs. The summer of 2006 Johnathan worked on-site for Foreman Program and Construction Managers on a $46.0 million high school complex for Ambridge Area School District. Finally in the summer of 2007 Johnathan worked on the renovation of Peter Pan Peanut Butter Processing Plant for ConAgra Foods with The Haskell Company.

Johnathan will graduate with his Bachelors of Architectural Engineering in May of 2008. Upon graduation of his undergraduate program he plans to pursue a Masters of Business Administration degree.
