While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work-in-progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Jason Sambolt. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.

Jason Sambolt is a fifth year architectural engineering major at The Pennsylvania State University. He will graduate in May of 2008 with a Bachelor Degree of Architectural Engineering. Once graduated, he will become a certified Engineer in Training (E.I.T) and has ambitions of becoming a Professional Engineer soon after.

Jason is a very hard working and dedicated individual. These traits are reflected in his school work and past summers as an intern. Over the past three summers, he has worked for McKamish, a mechanical contractor in Pittsburgh; performed undergraduate research under Dr. Jelena Srebric at Penn State; and most recently worked at CJL Engineering, a mechanical and electrical design firm near Pittsburgh. While working at CJL Jason developed a passion for the utilization of “green” mechanical systems through the use of alternative fuels, equipment, and theories. Through the different types of internships, he gained invaluable experience dealing with all sides involved in the mechanical system design and installation. Jason has decided to pursue a career in building mechanical system design and the development of environmentally friendly mechanical systems.

As a member of The Engineering National Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi, Jason has been involved in various community service activities. He has volunteered at a local community children’s Halloween walk, has assisted at the Penn State blood drive, and has raised money for the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON). In his free time Jason enjoys playing basketball, racquetball, golf, and working out.
