Arne Kvinnesland's Biography
Arne Kvinnesland is currently completing his fifth year in the Architectural Engineering program at The Pennsylvania State University. In May 2010 he will graduate with a Bachelors of Architectural Engineering, with a focus in building construction management. Arne passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam in October 2008 and upon graduation will be granted his Engineer in Training status. During the summer of 2008, Arne participated in the Architectural Engineering study abroad program in Rome, Italy, living and studying there for 7 weeks.
Arne has spent multiple summers working for construction and landscaping companies through high school and his early college years. During the summer of 2009 he interned with Tompkins Builders Inc., a subsidiary of Turner Construction Company headquartered in Washington, D.C. He worked on-site at the Army National Guard Readiness Center project, which he is now using as the project for his senior thesis. During his time there he worked with the MEP Project Engineer reviewing submittals and RFIs and attending regular owner and architect meetings. Most of his time, however, was spent working with the Building Information Model (BIM) and assisting in the coordination of the MEP systems. He aided the Project Engineering in running coordination meetings with the MEP subcontractors using BIM as a coordination tool.
Arne is a member of the student chapter of PACE and the National Association of Home Builders. Outside of academics at Penn State, Arne enjoys participating in intramural sports including softball, volleyball, and racquetball. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching and participating in all sports.
