TECHNICAL ASSIGNMENTS


Technical Assignment 1

The following Technical Assignment describes the construction methods employeed by Turner Construction on the National Intrepid Center of Excellence in Bethesda, MD. It takes a greater look at the existing conditions, along with several aspects related to the constrcution management process including: project schedule, cost evaluation, and the project delivery system used. An overview of the major building systems, local conditions, client information, and the existing site of the NICoE is also included within.

Technical Assignment 2

The following Technical Assignment describes several different components of the construction process as they are applicable to the National Intrepid Center of Excellence in Bethesda, MD. This report includes an in depth project schedule, site layout plans for the critical phases of the project, a detailed structural system estimate, and a comprehensive estimate for the project's general conditions. Also included, is an overview of the 2009 PACE Roundtable.

Technical Assignment 3

This Technical Assignment identifies areas of the National Intrepid Center of Excellence that are potential options for research, alternative methods, schedule compression, and value engineering.  A site interview was conducted with the Project Manger of NICoE, David Wysong, to discuss the topics listed above. Constructability challenges, schedule acceleration scenarios, and value engineering were some of the questions that Mr. Wysong and I had discussed during this interview. The report concludes with project problem identification and construction management activities for technical analysis methods.
