2010-2011 Architectural Engineering Thesis

Biography:

Alyson Larimer is currently in her 5th year of study in the Architectural Engineering program at Penn State focusing her studies to lighting and electrical design.  In May 2011, she will graduate with a Bachelor Degree of Architectural Engineering.  Alyson is an active member of the student chapters of the Illumination Engineering Society (IES) as well as the Student Society of Architectural Engineers (SSAE) PSU Chapter.

This past summer, Alyson participated in a lighting design internship being a part of the newly created Lighting Studio of Clark Nexsen Architectural and Engineering Firm.  Through this experience, she has learned and participated in the design process and interdisciplinary coordination while assisting design professionals on projects.  Alyson plans to take the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) this October and is eager to begin training in preparation to become a Profession Engineer (PE) upon graduation.  Ultimately, Alyson would be pleased to obtain a career that entails much traveling as she one day hopes to see the majority of the world.

Outside of her rigorous studies, art and music are a huge part of her life.  She enjoys going to see live bands as well as playing the piano.  She has a love for nature and enjoys spending as much time as possible outside with friends and family.
