Christopher Russell is currently in his fifth year of study in the Architectural Engineering program at The Pennsylvania State University. In May of 2011, he will graduate with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, with a focus in building illumination and electrical systems. Upon graduation, Christopher will gain E.I.T. status, after passing the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam in the Fall of 2009, and will assume a full time position with Greenman Pederson Inc,. This is the first step in achieving his ultimate goal of obtaining Professional licensure, along with LEED Accreditation, and Lighting certification.
Christopher has held an internship position with Greenman Pederson Inc., an MEP firm located in Scranton, Pennsylvania since the Summer of 2009. During the first year of his internship he was primarily responsible for AutoCAD drawings. He also assisted in site lighting projects, punch lists, and site surveying. The following year Christopher was given more responsibility. He now was responsible for providing lighting calculations and design input on various project types. These projects included office spaces, a library, a mural, and site lighting.
During his final year of study Christopher will participate in a Building Information Modeling (B.I.M.) thesis. The skills obtained in cross discipline coordination, along with further development of teamwork and compromise will help him be successful in his future career.
